Challenge One of the timeliest and most important debates of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic continues to be when and how to send children back to school safely. Schools have long been a safe haven for children, but also for the parents who struggle to afford childcare, single-parent households and families with two full-time working parents. The need for children to return to school is present, but determining how to do that in a safe way with minimum risk is a challenge. For PHG, our challenge was to help the researchers effectively communicate the “how’s” of returning to school safely in a way that is clear, engaging, actionable and easily digestible

Solution After Harvard professor and healthy buildings expert Joseph Allen and his team collaborated to write a research report on how to send children back to school safely, PHG fully designed, and made the content engaging and usable beyond the academic report itself. While designing the full report, we also highlighted key information and sections via infographics. The infographics broke up the content, made it more interesting and were then used as social media graphics to promote their findings.
